39-yr-old held for murder

The Faraskhana police on Saturday arrested Suresh Kamble (39), a resident of Budhwar Peth, for killing a man over a petty issue outside Shri Krishna talkies, which is in the same area, on June 11.

PUNE: The Faraskhana police on Saturday arrested Suresh Kamble (39), a resident of Budhwar Peth, for killing a man over a petty issue outside Shri Krishna talkies, which is in the same area, on June 11.
The deceased has been identified as Santosh Sawant (35), also a resident of Budhwar Peth. "On the night of June 11, Sawant had got into an altercation with the 60-year-old security guard of the talkies as he was sleeping on its premises.
Kamble had intervened and was abused by Sawant. In a fit of rage, Kamble beat Sawant. The latter died on the spot following which Kamble fled," senior inspector Milind Gaikwad said.
Police had initially registered a case of accidental death. During sustained interrogation, Kamble admitted to his involvement in the murder, Gaikwad added.
