Sharjah TV2 spreads the aroma of Ramadan to support non-Arabic speaking community culture


(MENAFNEditorial) Sharjah Channel2, the Sharjah Media Corporation's non-Arabic speakers' channel, is gearing up to present new programmes, in addition to its usual daily programmes, on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan. The non-Arabic speaking community in the UAE will have three new programmes that focus on the principles and code of conduct during Ramadan, and support the SMC's move to spread awareness about the teachings of Islamic religion and disseminate culture through the local community. The new programmes will be presented in three languages: English, Persian, and Urdu. Taleb Abdullah will present 'Islamic Care'; a series of episodes about Ramadan in English, that focuses on many teachings of the Holy Month, in addition to various aspects of Islamic ethics in dealing with oneself, life, and the community. Speaking on the occasion, HE Mohammed Jamal, Director of Non-Arabic Speakers Channel at the Sharjah Media Corporation, said: "We have been eager to allocate a significant portion of the Ramadan lineup to the non-Arabic speaking community and present them with programmes in different languages. These programmes will serve to raise awareness about the teachings of Islam and spread these teachings among people. We believe these outstanding programmes will attract audience as they have meaningful content that will meet the needs of people who seek to know more about the various values of Ramadan." 'Ramadan Mubarak'; presented by Arshad Bisher Madani in Urdu, highlights many values in Islam, including piety which is one of the highest spiritual and moral phrases mentioned in the Holy Quran, summarising all the spiritual and moral values in the life of the believer and thereby making him aware of the presence of Allah all the time. 'Ramadan the Spring of Quran' is another new programme in Ramadan for Non-Arabic speaking viewers. It is the third programme to be presented in Persian by Abdullah Ramadan Kashkar. The programme will show how fasting makes a positive difference in the Muslim's life in term of controlling different aspects of life, purifying Muslims and preventing them from committing sin or succumbing to guilt, and supporting them to lead a life of piety. Sharjah TV2, the Non-Arabic Speaking channel, was launched alongside with Sharjah TV 25 years ago. The channel presented the first full interpretation of the Holy Quran over a period of 17 years. The viewer base has dramatically grown with the addition of satellite broadcast, and the channel now has viewers in the USA, Australia, and Europe as well as in other regions of the world. The team is constantly striving to update and diversify the programmes to cater to the needs of the largest possible segment of non-Arabic speaking viewers and to create the appropriate environment to spread awareness about the Islamic religion and about the country's traditions and values.
