South Korea's Park «would die to play for just a minute» in World Cup

Foz do Iguacu, Brazil (dpa) - South Korean defender Park Joo Ho said Saturday that he has recovered from a toe infection and is anxious to play against Algeria. "Like any other footballer, I would die to play for just a minute in the World Cup," he said at the team's training quarters ahead of Sunday's Group H clash. Park, who plays in Germany for Bundesliga club Mainz, was on the bench for South Korea's 1-1 draw in their opening game against Russia. "I'm not all that disappointed," he said. "I can take comfort from the fact that I'm in the World Cup squad at all." The 27-year-old was omitted from the original 23-man World Cup squad because of his toe injury, but was nominated at the last moment when defender Kim Jin Su was injured shortly before the tournament began. # dpa Notebook * * * * The following information is not intended for publication ## dpa
