United Front for strict action against accused

JAMMU, June 21:  J&K Sikh United Front has demanded that the persons arrested by Domana Police for defaming the Sikh community, should be booked under Public Safety Act.
The demand was made during an emergency meeting of various Sikh organizations, held under the banner of J&K Sikh United Front and attended by representatives of Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society, AISSF, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Sikh Welfare Society, Guru Granth Sahib Study Circle, Sikh Istri Sudhar Sabha, Gurmat Vichar Manch and Transport Company Association.
While addressing the meeting, S Avtar Singh Khalsa, general secretary of J&K Sikh United Front strongly condemned the unparliamentarily and filthy language used by a youth of Patoli Brahmana. Even as an FIR under Section 295/A RPC and 66/67 A IT Act has been lodged against the accused at Police Station Domana, the meet expressed its dis-satisfaction over no adequate action against the erring youth.
If the accused is not booked under PSA for stern action against him, the Sikhs will be forced to come on roads and protest against the administration, the meet threatened and reminded the erring youth was recently disqualified from Bara University in Shimla for delivering similar type of defamatory speech.
Others who spoke in the meeting, included Mohinder Singh, Paramjit Singh, Ramnik Singh Bijral, Surinder Singh Kala, Kulwant Singh, Gajan Singh, Devinder Singh Bhgarghav, Rajinder Singh, Kapoor Singh Dutta, Raja Singh Sarpanch, Surjeet Singh (Kuku), Malkiat Singh, Gurbir Singh, Tejpal Singh, Kultaar Singh, Gurcharan Singh and Sukhdev Singh.
