ABCD 2: Varun Dhawan to get a MJ tattoo
Unlike his previous endeav ours, there's not much song-and-dance for VarunDhawan in SriramRaghavan's dark thriller, Badlapur.
This time, the actor has a role which spans three generations and three decades, starting from the '80s to the present day, and demands three different looks. But on August 15, Varun actor will be free to dance like he's never danced before, in RemoD'Souza'sABCDsequel.

“Shraddha and I are the only two non-dancers in the cast,“says the actor with the happy feet which are twitching in anticipation of his most physically demanding role.
He's hanging out and rehearsing with The Fictitious Group, a dance troupe whose real life journey from Vasai to Las Vegas inspired the film and their founder-dancer Suresh Mukund on whom his character is modelled.

“I'm dancing so much that I'm losing weight too. Workshops work better than any workouts,“ he grins.
The film takes off in Mumbai this Independence Day and the actor will prep at a tattoo parlour. “I'm planning to get myself a bunch of tattoos. One of them will be like Remo's MJ tattoo,“ he says.
Both Badlapur and ABCD 2 are far removed from Humpty Sharma, his Dilli and his dulhania. For the Mumbai lad, it was a challenge to get the accent, the mannerism and the tears right in
Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. “These days people are complimenting me on the way I cry when I watch Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in the trailer. I can't believe they're amused by my angst!“ Varun exclaims with mock horror.
He's quick to add that both Alia (Bhatt) and he are huge fans of Raj and Simran from the iconic love story. Humpty and Kavya's journey together too, he insists, is no mushy romance but peppered with arguments and one-upmanship. “That's the way we are in real life too so it doesn't feel like acting. I once made Alia cry on the sets with my pranks and then had to buy her a gift,“ Varun confesses sheepishly.
The duo debuted together, two years ago, in Karan Johar's Student Of The Year, but as Varun is quick to point out, their romantic interludes were brief. “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania is in a space between friendship and love like it is with us, actually,“ he quips.
Does this mean that they'll always be just friends and not 'good friends'? That calls for a reflective pause, “Well, Alia is very special and not just another friend. I'll always be protective and possessive of her,“ Varun admits, and adroitly moves to Badlapur. “I can't wait to see how the second half unfolds; it's one of the boldest films you'll see."

Sriram has been carefully guarding Varun's looks in the film. He admits he's been experimenting with hair, even facial hair. “Saturday Saturday, the chartbuster from my upcoming film, was filmed in between shooting for Badlapur,“ he informs. That's explains why cleanshaven Humpty is suddenly sporting a stubble. “But there's lots more to see,“ he promises.
Meanwhile, Mohit Suri has been working on a Hindi adaptation of the 2011 French conedy-drama, The Intouchables, which revolves around a rich quadriplegic and his caregiver.

The film touches on issues of class and colour. Since there are no racial minorities in India, will the differences be on the basis of class, community and even caste when Nawab Saif Ali Khan and Varun face the camera? “That's a question for Mohit who I've been dying to work with even before Aashiqui 2,“ says Varun.
Then, we bring up the subject of his fellow `student' Sidharth Malhotra and their supposed rivalry? “People have been speaking a lot for us, so what more can I say except that we're both friends and share a great equation,“ he quips.
So, when can we hope to see them in another film together? He retorts, “You'll have to ask Karan Johar that."
