2 selected for pre-season Mumbai Ranji cricket camp

Thane’s young cricketer Akhil Herwadkar (20), a member of under-19 India World Cup winning team in 2012, has been summoned for Mumbai Ranji pre-season camp commencing from June 23 at Bandra Kurla Complex stadium. Besides, another Thane man Avishkar Salvi, who played for the country in one day internationals, also made a cut in the squad to undergo pre-season camp. He was also a member of Delhi Dardevil team in IPL season VII.

Thane: Thane’s young cricketer Akhil Herwadkar (20), a member of under-19 India World Cup winning team in 2012, has been summoned for Mumbai Ranji pre-season camp commencing from June 23 at Bandra Kurla Complex stadium. Besides, another Thane man Avishkar Salvi, who played for the country in one day internationals, also made a cut in the squad to undergo pre-season camp.
He was also a member of Delhi Dardevil team in IPL season VII.
Herwadkar has propelled his stature from an under-19 player in the Mumbai and national side to get his big ticket for main Mumbai Ranji squad for which the pre-season training is beginning soon. Young batting sensation Herwadkar has attracted the attention of selectors in Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), based on his performance over the last season. The 27-member side includes veteran cricketers like Zaheer Khan, Wasim Zaffer, Rohit Sharma to mention a few. “I was anticipating a call from selectors on the basis of my consistency in the as part of India under-19 team and Mumbai side as well. I got my deserving place among the seasoned players including a bunch of current India cricketers,” said Herwadkar.
