Dileep’s movie title changed to respect religious sentiments
After Avathaaram, actor Dileep has been busy with Sudheesh Shankar’s debut film with Namitha Pramod and Mythili. The movie was initially titled Budhettan. However, the crew has decided to change the title to Villali Veeran, so that no religious sentiments are hurt.
Sudheesh Shankar says, “We had titled the movie Budhettan as the protagonist is named Sidharthan aka Sidhu.
However, once the title was out, we began getting mails from the followers of Buddhism, saying that the title is against their faith and hurts their religious sentiments, and that it sounds disrespectful. So the team decided to go for a title change. Dileep was only too happy to oblige.”
Dileep plays a vegetable vendor in the movie, which also has KB Ganesh Kumar and director Rafi playing prominent roles. Namitha Pramod, who plays an ad filmmaker, and Mythili are the leading ladies of Villali Veeran. The film has also lined up a number of comedians like Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kalabhavan Shajon, Kottayam Nazeer, Saju Kodiyan and Dharmajan Bolgatty. Vinaya Prasad, Lalu Alex and Neena Kurup are some of the others in the cast.
