Sajid Khan’s Humshakals, which stars Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Ram Kapoor in triple roles, is a tribute to comic geniuses Kishore Kumar and Jim Carrey. Says the director, “These stalwarts have entertained us over the years. This film is a tribute to them in my humble way. It is the funniest script I have worked on to date.” The movie’s comic scenes have been inspired by some of Kishoreda’s zany comedies like Jhumroo, Half Ticket and Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi.
The makers have even made Saif and Riteish repeat a memorable line from Half Ticket —‘Hum pagal nahi hai, hamara dimaag kharaab hai’, keeping the Kishore Kumar quotient in mind. The actors’ mannerisms will also offer glimpses of
Hollywood actor Jim Carrey’s cult comedies Dumb And Dumber and Ace Ventura.
