This should not happen to any child: Namita's father
BANGALORE: Silence gripped at Narendra Babu's residence in the second floor of a three floor residential building in VII main, Jyothinagar, Chandra layout, West Bangalore. Just 24 hours before, the house was filled with joy which ended the tragic death of eight year old Namita Babu, class II student with Sidda Ganga school, who came under the rear wheels of her school bus while collecting the lunch box which the school bus attendant Sagar Beeresh passed out from window.
"What can I say and how can I speak? I have lost my beloved daughter and you expect me to talk. Please leave us alone and give me some time. I shall come before the media as I have to pass the message to school management people. This should not happen to any child, any parent," he said.
On Thursday, Namita was buried in Harishchandra Ghat burial ground and Narendra Babu became more upset when he came across two more children body in the same place. "Being a father, I know the pain of losing children. I was depressed to witness the burying of a four year old and six year old in the same place," he said.
Namita's sisters and mother Pramila were still in shock and family were trying to console them.
Even the neighbours felt sorry for Namita. "They moved to this area few years back. I use to see Namita and her sisters while boarding the school bus and Namita was really an adorable girl. A set of children including Namita and her sisters would play in the road during evenings and Sundays. From now, Namita will not be seen playing anymore with others," a neighbour on condition of anonymity told TOI.
