Amrita Rao to debut on television?

While younger sister Preetika Rao has already made her mark in the TV industry as Aaliya in her debut show, Beintehaa, actress Amrita Rao is also set to debut on the small screen.

If sources are to be believed, the actress has been finalised to play the protagonist in Shashi Sumeet Mittal’s next for Star Plus. They are already producingDiya Aur Baati Hum, which is the number one show across GECs. A flurry of Bollywood actors including Anil Kapoor, Sarika, Padmini Kolhapure have made their way into television and Amrita is the latest addition.
Says a source, “The new show is a love story with strong family drama. Amrita has given a look test for the part.”
Both Sumeet and Amrita didn’t revert to our text message.
