Student kills classmate

A 14-year-old boy studying in class IX at Anjuman Boarding School in Malekpur village, about 40 km from Surat, died after being allegedly beaten up by his classmate for hurling his scull cap.

SURAT: A 14-year-old boy studying in class IX at Anjuman Boarding School in Malekpur village, about 40km from Surat, died after being allegedly beaten up by his classmate for hurling his scull cap.
Palsana police said that Sufiyan Iqbal Abdul Gaffur Shaikh, 14, a resident of Nishad Park, Tirupatinagar in Unn was sitting in his classroom when the his classmate Ibrahim Kabirvani, a resident of Nandanpada in Dang district, hurled the scull cap of Shaikh.

Sources said that the math class was going on and that the teacher had gone to the principal's office when the incident occurred.
Following the incident, Shaikh retaliated and entered into physical brawl with Kabirvani. Ibrahim caught hold of him and beat him up severely, police said. Within few minutes of the physical assault, Shaikh collapsed. Police said that Iqbal died on the spot after receiving serious injuries in his abdomen. There was a severe internal bleeding, which caused his death.
Sub-inspector of Palsana police station, ZN Dhasora told TOI, "The boy died after sustaining serious injuries in the abdomen. The body was sent for an autopsy and we are awaiting the medical report."
"He was teased by Ibrahim in the classroom and his scull cap was hurled by him. This irritated him and he took the brawl with Ibrahim," said Dhasora.
"The accused is not a juvenile. We have arrested him and further investigations are on," said Dhasora.
