Habagat on a 'monsoon break', up to moderate rain expected in PHL

The country is experiencing a break from the Habagat monsoon winds, according to a QRT weather report on Tuesday.

Because of this, only light rain is expected in Luzon on Wednesday, except in the MIMAROPA region where up to moderate amounts of rain are expected, the report added.

There is still a high chance of rain in Metro Manila on Wednesday, data from The Weather Company showed. The temperature may still reach 32 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. However, the air may "feel like" 38 degrees Celsius due to humidity.

Meanwhile in Visayas, up to moderate amounts of rain are expected. Cloudy skies and up to moderate rain are also expected in Mindanao which according to PAGASA is due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone, the report added.

The state weather agency also raised a gale warning in the northern seaboards of Northern Luzon where waves are expected to reach up to 3.7 meters high. Fisherfolk using small seacraft are advised not to set sail in said areas.—Kim Luces/TJD, GMA News
