Egypt's new cabinet, headed by Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, was sworn in Tuesday with the finance and security ministers keeping their posts by the country's newly-elected President Abdel-Fattah Al-Sisi.
Mahlab, who served for five month as an interim prime minister, retained his post following a landslide victory of former military chief in the May presidential vote.
The swearing-in ceremony took place in the presidential palace in the capital, and the state television aired live footage from the ceremony early Tuesday.
The new cabinet includes 34 ministers, 14 of whom were newly appointed with just four women.
"I swear by God the Almighty that I will sincerely protect the republican order, fully respect the constitution and the rule of law, completely take care of people's interests, and preserve the nation's independence and the integrity of its lands," Mahlab said followed by his ministers.
His cabinet included new Investment Minister Ashraf Salman, and former ambassador to Washington Sameh Shukri, who was appointed as foreign minister.
But most ministers including the ministers for finance, defense, interior, planning, oil, electricity, supplies and communications retained their posts. Endi
