Yaadein Vision Group Fiji has put smiles on faces of Korowiri Tovata Primary School students when they were donated school stationery.
Headteacher Yentesh Parmal Reddy said the donation would drive 44 students to succeed in their academic studies.
“These are needy children whose parents are displaced farmers and they cannot afford to buy books, pens and rulers for their children,” Mr Reddy said.
Yaadein co-ordinator Dewkhar Dayal believes just teaching a child to read and write was not enough if the students failed to have the proper learning tools.
“Our children need to be well equipped well to progress in the learning environment,” Mr Dayal said.
“This will help children improve their literacy skills, build their confidence and imagination, and ultimately improve their academic performance.”
The school management is grateful for the donation.
Yaadein Vision Fiji is a global charity organisation operating in New Zealand, Canada, United States and Fiji.
The organisation provides educational institutes like primary schools with necessary tools for education, for example, computers.
Children are taught how to use modern technologies so that when they go to high school or tertiary education, they are well equipped with the knowledge of using modern tools.
