Hot on the heels of winning both a Parents' Choice® Gold Award and a NAPPA Gold Award for her lively musical adventure into the world of modern art, Picasso, That's Who! (And So Can You!), singer/songwriter Hope Harris brings her high-spirited, interactive Picasso, That's Who! show to the DC area at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23 at Wolf Trap Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods, Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts, 1551 Trap Road, Vienna, VA.

Hope Harris and her band, The Cousins Jamboree, will take kids and families through a tuneful exploration of 19th and 20th century visual artists, bringing the words "museum" and "artist" down to earth and encouraging everyone to let loose and join in the fun of visual art. Hope's "artists' jamboree" will kick off with several fan favorites from her first, award-winning album,Cousins Jamboree and then proceed, full speed ahead, into a rollicking celebration of artistic creativity. The band will put a dot in motion like Paul Klee, with the audience following the bouncing balls. Families will action paint like Jackson Pollock, clap their hands and tap their feet to the rhythmic beat of Pablo Picasso, peer through a giant magnifying glass and look closely like Georgia O'Keeffe, get up and boogie as they hop a train and travel through the works of Romare Bearden, and even dive right into a David Hockney painting! By the end of the show, children will be inspired to "Paint a Picture, Too," just as Hope Harris sings on the closing song of her award-winning album.

"Add a little art and culture to your child's playlist with Picasso, That's Who! by Hope Harris." -- Parents Magazine

"These clever songs will not only get you grooving, but also get you learning about famous artists including Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock and Claude Monet. Is this rock-and-roll or an art class? Both!" --Washington Post

Says Hope Harris, "With this show, my goal is to spark curiosity and inspire creativity. I want kids to look at the world around them, be motivated to visit art galleries and museums, and to realize that artists are everywhere, making all kinds of art. I'd like to say to every child who sees my show, 'Now it's your turn ... paint it, glue it, draw it, mix it, try it!'"

A graduate of the University of Virginia and, later, the Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre, Hope Harris spent many years living and performing in NYC, appearing both on and off Broadway, as well as in regional and stock productions nationwide, and even doing stints at venues like Nashville's famed Bluebird Café. A crowning success in the kids' realm was her starring appearance, for three years running, as "Baker Bobbie" for the Park Slope, Brooklyn, Chocolate Chip Chamber Music Series, for which she is also a contributing scriptwriter. Hope now lives with her family in Richmond, Virginia and devotes a great deal of time to her program, ART IN TUNE™, which she presents in educational settings throughout the country.
