KOHAT:

A protest rally was taken out in Ustarzai Payan, Kohat on Sunday against the recent suicide attack in Taftan, Balochistan where at least 30 Shia pilgrims were killed. Protesters demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators.

The rally, organised by Ansarul Hussain, began at a local imambargah around 11am and passed through various routes in the district, ending with a sit-in. Local elder Allama Ramzan Tauqeer condemned the fragile security situation across the country.

“The country is being pushed into a state of instability in a conspiracy aimed at weakening the country,” he said, addressing the rally. Allama Qaiser Abbas said the government needs to take solid steps for maintaining religious harmony among different sects and arrest the target killers.

“Target killings have become routine from Karachi to Kurram Agency and their frequency is increasing,” said Abbas. “Security agencies should utilise all resources for containing this monster of lawlessness before it consumes the entire country.”
