POONCH, June 15: Dr Shehnaz Ganai (MLC) today inaugurated three water coolers, donated by her out of her Constituency Development Fund at Nangali Sahib, Dera Sahib Khari Karmara, Dashnami Akhara, for the facility of the pilgrims visiting these religious places. She was accompanied by Mahant Sahib, besides other religious leaders. The management committees thanked her for providing water coolers for pilgrims and other people during this summer season.
Later, Dr Ganai held series of public meetings in Sawjian area. Dr Ganai while addressing the party workers said that “NC and its activists have withstood so many onslaughts and challenges, but it has came out victorious and stronger for the fact that it lives in the minds and hearts of the people,” and asked the workers to nurture the high principles of the party and always stand for the public cause.
Addressing the public, Dr Ganai said that power has never been the objective of NC, but public service is the only benchmark of the functioning of this party. She said, “we are in the era of development and the Sate under the Chief Ministership of Omar Abdullah has seen equitable development of all the three regions of the State. During last five years, the State has witnessed massive developmental activities which have changed the developmental profile of the State”.
Dr Shehnaz said that five prime sectors of public concern power, road connectivity, drinking water supply, healthcare and education have received special focus for comprehensive development. She said that Coalition Government is aware of the demands and requirements of people about upgradation of basic amenities.
