Man dies in crash in Victoria's east

By Goya Dmytryshchak

A man has died in a single vehicle crash at Genoa, in East Gippsland.

Police say the man was a passenger in a Toyota sedan that veered off the Princes Highway and down an embankment just after 10am on Sunday.

Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said two women in the car suffered neck and spinal injuries.

They were taken to Bairnsdale hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police are diverting traffic at Monaro Highway.

The man's death brings the road toll to 114, eight more than for this time last year.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or www.crimestoppers.com.au.
