7-year-old boy drowns in Goregaon drain

MUMBAI: A seven-year-old boy drowned in a drain near Sankalp building at Goregaon (E) on Friday evening. The victim, Rehan Shaikh, was playing near the drain, along with other children, when he accidentally fell into it as water levels inside had increased due to rain.
Shaikh was swept away and the other children alerted his parents and locals about the incident. Fire brigade was informed.Personnel from the fire brigade finally found the body in some distance in Malad after five hours of struggle.
The Dindoshi police registered a case of accidental death. They have ruled out any foul play.
