Mystery shrouds woman’s death in Alirajpur district

INDORE: A newly married young tribal woman was found hanging from a tree in mysterious circumstances in Chandpur area of tribal-dominated Alirajpur district on Thursday.
While autopsy suggested she could have committed suicide, cops in Alirajpur are investigating possibility of her killing as silver jewellery worn by her is missing.
20-year-old Lakhma, who was married to 21-year-old Ramesh Bhilala just a month ago, was found hanging from a tree near a nullah early morning.According to superintendent of police (SP-Alirajpur) Akhilesh Jha, autopsy has established asphyxia resulting from hanging and suicidal injury as cause of woman’s death.
“The woman who was married last month had participated in a marriage function near her house till late hours on Wednesday night. With silver jewellery worn by her missing from her body, the entire matter seems suspicious,” the SP added on Friday.
