Engineering student from A.P. found dead in Kandigai

A third-year engineering student was found dead near the apartment complex where he was staying, in Kandigai on Old Mahabalipuram Road, on Monday.

Linga Reddy (20) of Chinnamaasavaram in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh, stayed in a rented apartment in a multi-storied residential complex in Kandigai, and was studying at a self-financing engineering college in Melakottaiyur.

The Thazhambur police said the youth was found lying in a pool of blood in the space between the compound wall and the apartment building, around 5.30 a.m. on Monday.

Subramani, the residential complex in-charge, informed the police and the body was taken to Chengalpattu Government Medical College Hospital. A case under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure was registered at Thazhambur. Investigations are on to ascertain the cause of death.
