There was confusion at civic examination centres for the post of clerk as the system server shut down in the middle of examination causing panic in the candidates. Due to the hiccup, over 1000 aspirants had to quit the exam midway through and others could not take exam later.
According to the civic officials, the BMC had organized an online and typing exam at 54 centres across 14 cities in Maharashtra to recruit 942 clerical posts.
More than 70,000 aspirants will be appearing for exam, which will be held from June 13 to 15. The exams will be conducted in three batches.
The problem was observed in centres like Andheri, Kandivali, Chandivali in Mumbai, Ghodbunder in Thane and Sanpada in Navi Mumbai. In each batch, there were more than 800 candidates.
