MBABANE – Zodwa McNamara is the new Miss Cultural Heritage Director after being unveiled on Monday at the Arts and Culture offices. McNamara was unveiled by the Swaziland National Council of Arts and Culture (SNCAC) CEO Stanley Dlamini.

McNamara was chosen as chairperson of an organising committee, which was also announced yesterday. Being chairperson of the committee automatically qualifies her as the director of the pageant.
The rest of the organising team include Zazi Dlamini, Zanele Shongwe, Thabiso Dlamini, Pamela Hlophe and Sibongile Mamba.
Worth mentioning is the fact that the SNCAC incorporated the pageant under their wing following discussions with the Council’s stakeholder which is the Swaziland Beauty Pageants Association.

The Council outlined that they discovered that the pageant had similar projects with it hence it was viable to share the operations.
McNamara thanked the SNCAC for entrusting her with the pageant promising to give her best.
“The focal point is the organising committee as a whole as they have shown in the short time that we have been together that they are hardworking individuals, hence my belief is that the results will be positive through that,” she said.

Moreover, she stated that they will also make sure that they have a queen that will be a role model in all aspects.
“We are still to meet to discuss our work plan so that we can have our starting point,” she said
SNCAC’s Chief Executive Officer Stanley Dlamini confirmed the members of the organising committee.

“We have given them terms of reference in which to guide them and we believe that they will achieve the desired goals,”
Dlamini said the winner will be expected to work hand in hand with the culture office in the Council to produce high production results of the Miss Cultural Heritage pageant.

“She will be expected to help teachers in schools in formulating score sheets for cultural competitions and be part of all culture days in other institutions including churches,” said Dlamini.
