NEW DELHI: Courting controversy, AIMIM member Asaduddin Owaisi raked up Godhra riots, Ishrat Jahan incident and Babri Masjid demolition, creating an uproar in Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

Congress MP from Wayanad M I Shanavas went a step further, likening the BJP victory to that of Hitler, Mussolini and Stalin's.

Protesting BJP members tried to shout down Owaisi when he sought to know who were responsible for crimes against minorities and also assassination of Mahatma Gandhi.

Owaisi's remarks with regard to Babri Masjid demolition and Godhra riots evoked sharp reaction from BJP members who were heard shouting "shame on you".

Unperturbed by vociferously protest, Owaisi noted there are very few Muslim representatives from BJP in the Lok Sabha. "Where is the pluralism and diversity?" he asked and demanded that the PM make it clear what he proposed to do for the minorities.

He added that soon, this Parliament would nominate Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse for Bharat Ratna.

As uproar continued in the House, Owaisi mentioned the Ishrat Jahan case saying he was raising the issuing as her "brother".

While speaking in LS, Shanavas said despite the defeat, Congress would rise again. "Congress will never die. Congress can die only with the nation... Whatever may be your victory, victory is not all that matters. Hitler had won, Mussolini had won, Stalin had won, victory will not make all the differences. I tell you in this august House that the Indian National Congress will come back like a storm in this House itself," he said.
