BHOPAL: A 28-year-old woman was allegedly raped repeatedly by seven people for two months at Bhahdurpur village in Vidisha district.
According to a complaint lodged at Murwas police station, she was raped by five members of a single family and two of their domestic help.
A case of gang-rape was filed and one accused was arrested. Investigations are on to ascertain if a false complaint has been lodged to implicate the family in a money-related dispute.
"Complainant's husband and the accused were at loggerheads. Her husband had done carpentry work at the house of accused. There was a dispute between them over payment," said Vidisha SP Siddhartha Chaudhary.
"The survivor claims to have lost count of how many times she was raped in last 60 days," SP said. The survivor told police that her husband had a monitory dispute with the family of accused.
"She was raped every alternate day after her 45-year-old husband moved out of house for work and the accused threatened her with dire consequences if she reported the matter to her husband or police," according to the complaint. She was last time raped on May 29. Six accused Shantilal Raghuvanshi, Ramkarna Raghuvanshi, Gopal Raghuvanshi, Yeshwant Raghuvashi, Kunwarlal and Bhura were charged under the Section 376 (b) of IPC.
