Four suicide notes found after ex-DCP’s son shoots self
He wrote four suicide letters to his near and dear ones, then took a bullet to his chest and died. On a regular Monday afternoon, around 1:45 pm, the sudden sound of a gunshot reverberated through Kaval Byrasandra, bordering DJ Halli and RT Nagar.

R Raghavendra (in pic), 36, son of retired Deputy Commissioner of Police V Ramaiah, had shot himself inside their Scorpio vehicle using his father’s licensed revolver. Raghavendra had gone to visit a friend in Chamundinagar and then, reportedly, came back to RT Nagar near Taralabaalu mutt.

There were six rounds inside the revolver, and Raghavendra used one on himself. The public, who heard the sound, informed the police immediately.

Assistant commissioner of police (J C Nagar) H M Omkaraiah told BM, “It is a very simple case of suicide. Raghavendra had taken huge sums of money from various people to the tune of almost Rs 30 lakh and had been unable to repay the amount.’’

The police found a note inside Scorpio which asked the cops to collect an envelope left with his driver Manju on Sunday evening. The note also had the phone numbers of two of his relatives. From the envelope, the police recovered four suicide notes written and addressed to his father, mother, wife, and the police, the last apologising for ‘‘inconveniencing’‘ them. Police also said that Raghavendra had sent text messages through WhatsApp to all his friends saying Sunday would be his last day.
