KATRA, June 9: Toppling wrestler Kulbir Singh of Kot Bhawal, Jammu in the first main bout, wrestler Ajay Sharma of Landen Power House Udhampur lifted the 4th Annual Sarna Kesari Dangal title, here today.
The event was organized by Sarna Dangal Committee at Sarna near Katra in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, under the overall supervision of its president, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch, Onkar Singh.
41 bouts were played in this event.
Wrestler Ajay Sharma, received a cash prize of Rs 3,000 alongwith Mata Ki Chunni, while runners-up wrestler, Kulbir Singh got Rs 2,000 by Naib Sarpanch, Som Raj and Numberdar Rattan Singh.
Earlier, the dangal was declared open by president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association of India Shiv Kumar Sharma, who was chief guest.
The second main bout was played between wrestler Babba of Kot Bhalwal Jammu and wrestler Balwan Singh of Mahore in Reasi district. This bout was won by Babba, who got a cash prize of Rs 2,000, while runners-up wrestler Balwan Singh won Rs 1,500 as cash prize. Third bout was won by Gopal Sharma of Jindrah who defeated Murad Ali of Domana Akhara. 4th bout was won by Swarn Singh of Kot Bhalwal Jammu who defeated Liakat Ali of Panthal.
The bouts were officiated by Bishamber Dass, Angraj Singh, Murli Dhar (Munna), Abdul Rehman and Tara Chand.
