After Vadodara and Surat, Honey Singh denied permission in Ahmedabad too

Ahmedabad, 6 June 2014

Ahmedabad’s Vastrapur police station on Friday denied permission to hold controversial singer Honey Sing’s concert in Ahmedabad. The concert was canceled following denial of permission. This is Honey Singh’s second concert that has been denied permission in Gujarat in last one week. Earlier his concert was denied permission by Surat police.

The organizers had challenged the decision of local police in the high court, but they had failed to get any relief. Honey Singh’s musical night was also denied permission in Vadodara couple of years back following protests. The last musical night Honey Singh could perform in Ahmedabad was at HL college a few years back, and that event was not peaceful. There was a clash between the organizers and pass owners over the issue of printing of fake passes.

Honey Singh’s some of the recent songs in Hindi films have topped popularity chart, however lewd lyrics in his songs have attracted protests and also a police case in the past.

Meanwhile, number of pass owners had to go back from the AES ground in Ahmedabad without enjoying musical night due to last minute cancellation of Honey Singh concert. The ground was prepared with basis structure of stage and fencing. One of the organizers Krishnasinh said he will reapply for permission. He said the pass owners don’t need to get disappointed, as concert could be held on next date instead of today if permission is granted. He said the permission was canceled due to some technical reasons.
