RAIPUR: In another case of same sex marriage, two girls in Surajpur region claim to have tied the nuptial knot, following which their parents reported the matter to police.
The incident was reported on Friday at Jaynagar police station after two minors claimed to have got married at a local temple a-week-ago and wished to spend life together. The teenagers had eloped from their homes a fortnight ago and were staying at a rented room.

The case has been, however, passed on to department of women and child development (DWCD) as girls are minors.
According to police, the girls had met each other at a relative’s place and developed feelings for each other. For the last one week, girls’ parents were struggling to convince them but they refused to budge from their %decision.
One of the girls has already started wearing vermillion on her forehead while the other dons male outfits. Officials at DWCD said the girls will have to be counselled as it is a tender age to fall in love.
A similar incident was reported on April 21 this year, when two teenaged girls claimed to have fallen in love with each other and wished to stay together in Raigarh district.
The duo who had eloped from their homes were sent to children’s home and later counselled.
