TeamLease Skills University gets provost, to start academic year

VADODARA: TeamLease Services, India's largest composite staffing company, on Friday announced appointment of Vikrant Pande as the first provost of India's first vocational education university - TeamLease Skills University (TLSU).
TLSU has been set up at Tarsali as a private university under the provisions of the Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009 under a MoU signed between TeamLease and Gujarat government in January 2011.
The private university has opened its admissions for the academic year 2014-15 and the classes for the first batch will commence from last week of this month. An alumnus of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, Pande has worked with various multinationals including GE Capital, Avco (later CitiFinancial) and MetLife Insurance in different capacities. As CEO, Pande headed Amsure Insurance and later iTrust Financial Advisors, a PE Funded startup.
Pande, is also an alumni of M S University, from where he graduated in mechanical engineering. He was instrumental informing the corporate advisory group at IIM Udaipur.
