GURGAON: Visitors to Leisure Valley Park will soon benefit from a new foot overbridge (FOB) planned near IFFCO Chowk on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway.
Lack of adequate FOBs and subways on this busy route has caused numerous deaths of pedestrians. The FOB has, therefore, been planned primarily for residents of Sector 17-C who find it difficult to cross over to Leisure Valley Park located on the other side of the expressway.
The estimated cost of the project is Rs 4.58 crore and the period of completion is three months.
According to officials, the FOB will be 10 feet wide and it will not only cater to pedestrians, but also to motorcyclists. "There will be steps and ramps on both sides for easy movement of wheelchair-bound people. This FOB is being constructed at this site keeping in mind the increasing number of visitors to Leisure Valley Park. We have also kept the option to construct lifts on this FOB in future," said an official.
The foundation stone for the FOB was laid by the
National Highways Authority of India and
Haryana Urban Development Authority on Friday. It was laid by MCG chief
Praveen Kumar as the project was finalized during his stint as a HUDA administrator.
