The Bowring fight club: Criminal case is filed against Nasreen, maid

Based on complaint of the departmental store manager at Bowring Institute, police have charged Nasreen with theft, using foul language and for threatening

Acting on a complaint filed by the manager of the departmental store at Bowring Institute, Cub cting on a complaint filed by the manager of the departmental store at Bowring Institute, Cubbon Park police have registered an FIR against Nasreen Sattar, the daughter of Hajee Abdul Sattar Sait, who pioneered Safina Plaza, her maid and another person only identified as Tarun. Nasreen had allegedly abused and threatened staff and the manager of the store at Bowring Institute on May 29. The entire incident was recorded on CCTV camera. “A case has been registered based on a complaint by P Karthikeyan, the departmental store manager,” Uday Bhaskar, police inspector, Cubbon Park station told BM. “The case has been registered based on charges made by the complainant which include theft (section 379 of IPC), using foul language and provocation (section 504 of IPC) and threat (section 506 of IPC). An investigation is on.” In his written complaint to the police, Karthikeyan claims Nasreen had harassed and threatened him with dire consequences. “Mrs Nasreen came to the store around 12 pm and started abusing me and threatened to break my face and close the store. Enclosed is the CCTV footage of the entire episode,“ Karthikeyan states in his complaint. “Mrs Nasreen later called over (sic) my mobile and started abusing and harassing me. Mr Tarun and Mrs Nasreen Sattar called me again and both of them threatened me, harassed and abused me over the phone.Irequest you to file an FIR and take firm and necessary action.

“Police confirmed that a case has also been made out against Nasreen's maid and Tarun. “The case has been made under section 379 read with section 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), as the evidence in hand suggests that, prima-facie, two others were part of the crime. In this case, Nasreen, her maid and Tarun appear to have breached this law,” a police officer said.The police confirmed that no complaint has been filed against the store manager although Nasreen had levelled allegations of molestation.“Both Nasreen and the departmental store manager had been to police station,” a senior police officer said.“Since the store manager had lodged a complaint in writing and had provided audio and video records to substantiate his complaint, a case has been registered.
