Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, who underwent a bypass surgery in 2012, was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital recently for a routine check-up, according to son Luv. “After a strenuous election campaign and resounding victory in Lok Sabha election, Sinha was hospitalised here for his periodic check-up. All tests are normal,” Ram Narain, executive director of Ambani Hospital, said. The actor later attended the swearing in ceremony of Narendra Modi in Delhi.

Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony as India’s 15th Prime Minister turned out to be quite a starry affair. Besides the heads of SAARC countries, national leaders, religious personalities and business magnates, spotted at the venue were actor-politicians Hema Malini, Shatrughan Sinha, Kirron Kher and actors Dharmendra, Anupam Kher, Vivek Oberoi, Madhur Bhandarkar, Bappi Lahiri, Poonam Dhillon, Vinod Khanna, Smriti Irani, Manoj Tiwary and Salman Khan with father, Salim Khan.

 

House vandalised

The house of music maestro A.R. Rahman in Los Angeles was vandalised recently. “Vandalism at my place in LA…,” Rahman tweeted along with the picture. The photograph showed certain letters written in black ink on the wall of his house. After his post, the 48-year-old composer received tons of messages from his concerned fans on the social media. The Oscar-winning composer Rahman had recently composed music for Jon Hamm starrer Hollywood film, Million Dollar Arm.

 

Famous in Tokyo

Sridevi was in Tokyo for the premiere of the dubbed Japanese version of her comeback film, English Vinglish. Akie Abe, wife of Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and popular Japanese singer Agnes Chan attended the premiere. “Off to Tokyo, Japan for super premiere of English Vinglish dubbed in Japanese,” Sridevi had posted on her Twitter page earlier. The film is slated to release across 33 screens in Japan
on June 28.
