Harish Achar is new cheif of Dakshina Kannada cooperative union

MANGALORE: Harish Achar, president of Vishwakarma Cooperative Bank Ltd has been elected unopposed president of Dakshina Kannada District Cooperative Union for a five-year term from 2014-15.
Sundar Gowda Ichchila, president of Ujire Seva Sahakari Sangha too was elected the vice-president of the union, elections to which were held here on Tuesday. MN Rajendra Kumar, president, SCDCC Bank felicitated the new team of the union.
In the elections to the post of directors of the union held on May 26, Harish Achar, Sundar Gowda Ichchila, Diwakar Rai P B, Neelayya M Agari, Shyamprasad Poonja, Prasad Kaushal Shetty, Prafulla, Bahubali Prasad M, Yashodar K Bangera, Shivaram Rai B, Santosh Kumar Shetty, Venkappa Naik A, Devadas Adappa D were elected as directors of the union.The elections to the post of president and vice-president were scheduled for June 3.
