LUDHIANA: When the paintbrush begins to stroke your thoughts and draw your dreams, you know you're an artist. For
Balwinder Singh, every passing thought and lasting impression is expressed on canvas. The artist from Khanna displayed his works at an exhibition in Punjabi Bhawan. He showcased the depths of Meena Kumari's eyes to the unspoken promises in PM Narendra Modi's bearing with the sensitivity of a true artist.
According to him, the portrait of Meena Kumari is one of his most treasured works while that of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is relatively recent. "I made this portrait a few days ago. The people of this country have reposed their trust in him and I hope he lives up to their expectations," he said. Balwinder plans to gift the portrait to the PM one day. "The day Modi ji comes to our city, I shall be honored to present it to him", he said. Another pro at portraits, Santveer Singh from Aggar Naggar even though belongs to the same league, but still manages to come out unique. He sketches imaginary faces, which come out to be breathtakingly beautiful.
"I seldom sketch people I know personally and my work mostly revolves around expressions. I believe in capturing the slightest expression on the human face," said the 20-year-old.
