Khanapur police arrest 11 persons and recover stolen articles worth Rs 27 lakh

Khanapur police arrested eleven persons and recovered five stolen vehicles including three lorries all worth about Rs 27 lakh.

BELGAUM: Khanapur police arrested eleven persons and recovered five stolen vehicles including three lorries all worth about Rs 27 lakh.
Acting on a clue, a police team of Khanapur went to the agriculture field of Umarsab Gudusab Mujawar at Sagare village at Khanapur taluk and found six persons engaged removing, fixing the spare parts and constructing the new body of a ten-wheeler truck.
During interrogation, police came to know that it was a stolen vehicle and the accused gang disclosed they had stolen the vehicles from police station limits like Kittur, Malmaruti, Dharwad Suburban, Kasabapet in Hubli and Nandgad. The accused also used to sell the stolen vehicles after making it attractive and also sell the spare parts of the vehicles.
The accused have been identified as Asif Yasin Tolagi of Golihalli in Khanapur taluk, Sambrajya Krishna Uppar of Arutagi from Dharwad, Bhimsen Laxman Khanagavi of Khanagaon in Gokak, Sheetal Datta Salunke, Ilyias Mohammadhussian Nadaf, Mudhu Yuvaraj Aihole, Mansur Dastgir Makandar and Mokim alias Moshin Jairuddin Bakshiraz, all from Kudachi in Raibag taluk, Suresh Jangappa Chougale alias Gosavi of Ugar Khurdh, Ansarpasha alias Ayub Abdulsatar of Shimoga and Afzal alias Sayyadsab Dafedar of Ujwal nagar, Belgaum. Dasthagir Nissarahmed Mulla of Kittur and Aizaz Shafiahmed Kittur of Khanapur are absconding.
