Due to the films of Tim Burton, I now associate pinstripe suits with macabre characters like Betelgeuse and Jack Skellington.

Solo artist and game developer Thomas Brush has decided to exploit this semiotic association by naming his upcoming adventure game, Pinstripe.

It's about death, you see.

It follows a dead man as he journeys across a surreal world looking for his wife. It's played as a sidescrolling adventure and will have some puzzles for us to solve.

There's also a health meter in screenshots, indicating that there will be more threatening challenges to deal with, too. Indeed, past reports on the game have mentioned a shotgun and a small grey dog friend.

What you'll probably care about more is the game's hand-drawn visuals, though. I know I do. Brush (fitting name) has spent the past three years gradually illustrating this world so that it'll satiate our curiousity.

Unfortunately, little is known about Pinstripe. There are plenty of screenshots depicting snowy, treacherous-looking locales, and a treetop village called Red Wash. But it's just more fuel for our imaginations rather than concrete details.

Still, Pinstripe's haunting journey seems worthy of all the attention it gets. IndieCade certainly thought so, as it picked it for its E3 2013 lineup, which is how I first heard about it.

To leave you with some solid details, it can be confirmed that Pinstripe will be coming to PC and mobile when it's finished. And Brush says that it's very close to completion now.

Hopefully, then, we'll be playing Pinstripe on our mobiles later this year. You can keep up with the game on Facebook.
