Woman claims postman abused her in elevator
A 51-year old postman was arrested by the Pantnagar police late on Wednesday night for sexually assaulting a 35-year old housewife inside the elevator of a building in Ghatkopar.
The victim, who used to stay in the Cooperage Place building in Vallab Baug with her husband and in-laws, had come to collect her passport. She had been staying away since the couple started the divorce proceedings.
The accused, Pradeep Savdaram Manchekar, had gone to the building to deliver her passport. The victim was upset that he delivered the passport to her mother-in-law and went to confront him in the elevator.

The incident took place at 2.20 pm on Wednesday, said the police. “The accused allegedly pushed and abused the victim and has been booked under section 354 of IPC,” said Senior Inspector Suresh Nirmal. MMB
