Surendra Pal to enter historical TV show
The actor was finalised this Sunday for the role and started shooting on Monday.
When we contacted the actor, he told us, “It’s after a long time that I am playing a historical character. I had last played a historical character in the film Jodha Akbar. In Maharana Pratap..., I am essaying the character of Rao Maldeo Singh, who was a very dabangg maharaja of Marwar.
He was feared by Mughals and had always given his enemies a hard time on the battlefield. But his only weakness was his granddaughter, Phool Kanwar, for whom he could go to any lengths.”

Pal was earlier seen playing the role of Prajapati Daksh in another mythological show. Pal said, “It’s been 25 years since I have become a part of the industry. I believe in taking breaks between my roles so that the viewers can forget my earlier character. This way, it becomes relatively easier for the viewers to take to my new character quickly.”
Pal is still remembered for his roles as Guru Dronacharya in BR Chopra’s Mahabharat (1988) and as the evil Kilvish in the superhero TV series, Shaktimaan.
