JAMMU, May 21: Excise Staff at Toll Post Lakhanpur has recovered 620 bottles of drugs (Corex and Rexcof) of 100 ml each in a bus coming from Delhi to Jammu.
The recovery was made under the supervision of Dy. Excise Commissioner, Toll Post Lakhanpur, Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed and Dy. Commissioner Commercial Taxes Pankaj Magotra alongwith Excise & Taxation Officers Ravi Thakur and Sahil Jandyal, Inspectors Excise Khalid Manhas, Romesh Kumar and Harish Chander, Sub-Inspectors Brij Pal Singh and Arya Vir Singh and Guards Mohd. Shakeel, Kamal Kumar, Barkat Hussain and Sandesh.
During the course of physical checking approximately 620 bottles of drugs (Corex and Rexcof) concealed in corrugated boxes and bags were found in the vehicle. The drug peddler Wajahat Hussain, son of Mohd. Abudullah of Surankote alongwith the drugs was handed over to Drug Inspector Kathua.
Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed, Dy. Excise Commissioner Toll Post Lakhanpur and Pankaj Magotra Dy. Commissioner Commercial Taxes have warned the smugglers/tax evaders to desist from such kind of illegal activities.
