Ambad Industries and Manufacturers' Association president elected unopposed

Senior industrialist Vivek Patil has been elected unopposed as the new AIMA president for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 financial years.

NASHIK: Six new office-bearers, including the president, of the Ambad Industries and Manufacturers' Association (AIMA), have been elected unopposed and the formal announcement will be made at its annual general meeting (AGM) on May 31.
Senior industrialist Vivek Patil has been elected unopposed as the new AIMA president for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 financial years.
Among the rest of the elected office-bearers are Varun Talwar (vice-president), Rajendra Ahire (general secretary) and Nikhil Panchal (treasurer).
Unmesh Kulkarni and Venkatesh Murthy have been elected unopposed for the two posts of secretaries.
The elections for six posts of office-bearers and 19 of executive committee members willbe held on May 27 and official announcement of the new president and executive committee members will be made at the AGM on May 31.
Accordingly, a candidate each had filed their nominations for the post of six posts of office-bearers of the association, including the post of the president. After the scrutiny of the nominations on Monday, the list of valid candidates was announced on Wednesday. Accordingly, all six office-bearers of the association have been elected unopposed as they were the lone candidate for each post.
Apart from six posts of office-bearers, 23 candidates are in the fray for 19 posts of executive committee members. Thursday is the last day for withdrawal of nominations and the election for these 19 posts will also be unopposed if any four candidates withdraw their nominations.
The term of sitting AIMA president Suresh Mali will end on May 31 and he will hand over the charge to the new president the same day.
