Panasonic's new flagship Octa-core smartphone P81 is reportedly making its debut this week in India.

Last week, Panasonic had released a couple of teaser videos of P81 giving a sneak peak on the features of the phone, and now an anonymous source has leaked the key specifications as well as price of the device to technology website, NDTV Gadgets.

Panasonic P81 is tipped to be a big-screen mid-range smartphone (phablet) with 5.5-inch HD (720p) display and ship with 1.7GHz True Octa-core CPU (probably MediaTek), 1GB RAM, 8GB (expandable up to 32GB).

Other expected features include 13.0-megapixel camera, 2.0-megapixel camera for video chat, 2500 mAh battery and connectivity features include 3G network support, dual-SIM slots, Bluetooth v3.0 and Wi-Fi.

The website also added that Panasonic P81 would hit stores on Tuesday (20 May) for MRP ₹19,990 with best buy option of ₹18,990. As an introductory offer, the company is said to give away freebies such as flip-cover, screen guard, digital subscriptions worth close to ₹12,000.

Once released, Panasonic P81 will compete with domestic players like Micromax Canvas Knight A350, Karbonn Mobile's Octane & Octane Plus, Intex Aqua Octa and also the MNC branded Gionee Elife S5.5.
