Dilip Vengsarkar, Mohinder Amarnath or Bishen Singh Bedi can assist panel: CAB’s Aditya Verma

Vengsarkar said that if court and the committee want his help then he has no problem in taking the task.

Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) secretary Aditya Verma feels that there are many former cricketers who can be part of the investigation team for IPL probe related to betting and spot-fixing. “Though we can’t suggest the name as honorable court has left on the committee to decide but there are well known former players like Dilip Vengsarkar, Mohinder Amarnath and Bishen Singh Bedi, who can assist the Mudgal committee. These players are of great stature and have high integrity,” Verma said.

Apart from former Justice Mukul Mudgal, his previous colleagues L Nageswara Rao and Nilay Dutt, will also be part of the panel. IPL officer BB Mishra will also be assisting Mudgal Committee and they will choose a police officer from Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi each to help the investigate.

Former India captain and chairman of selection committee Vengsarkar said that if court and the committee want his help then he has no problem in taking the task. “Of course, if the probe committee needs my help, I’m always ready for it. Since my retirement I have always worked on development of cricket and still continuing to do so. I’m always there for any kind of advice and there is no question of saying no, if the committee offers me,” Vengsarkar said.
