Kannada Milk Producers' Federation polls on May 26

DHARWAD: Elections to the board of directors of Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag and Uttara Kannada Milk Producers' Federation will be held on May 26 from 9am to 4pm.
The counting of votes will take place soon after the voting and the results will be announced on the same day. The newly elected body will have a term of five years from 2014-2019.
Dharwad assistant commissioner Mahesh Karjagi, who is the returning officer, said May 18 is the last date for filing of nominations.The papers will be scrutinized on May 19. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is May 20.
So far only six candidates have filed their nominations. The elections will be held for 12 posts of directors. The list of 753 voters has been put on notice board.
Karjagi said the voters will be allowed to vote only on producing the identity card issued by the principal secretary to the co-operative department. The final list of contestants will be put up on the notice board on May 21. Ballot papers will be used for voting, he added.
