The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) strengthened by 0.15 percent to 4,898.77 in Friday's first trading session.
Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) data showed 93 traded stocks gained in the morning while 38 stocks weakened and 56 stocks stayed unchanged.
Volume of transactions was 228.718 million shares worth Rp 308.377 billion (US$26.52 million), kontan.co.id reported.
Shares in eight sectors strengthened during the opening session with infrastructure leading the list up 0.74 percent, followed by construction and mining with 0.48 percent and 0.24 percent, respectively.
LQ 45 index's biggest gainers in the morning trade included PT XL Axiata (EXCL), PT Alam Sutera Realty (ASRI) and PT Adaro Energy (ADRO).
Meanwhile, PT Bank Danamon (BDMN), PT Sentul City (BKSL) and PT Indofood Sukses Makmur (INDF) were the index's biggest losers.(nfo)
