It was only last year that Kunal Kapoor initiated a massive support programme and managed to crowd source 45 lakh rupees for luger Shiva Keshavan, who was cash strapped for the Winter Olympics.
Keshavan may have crashed out of the event after an ugly slide off his sled, but it has not really deterred Kapoor, who is back with yet another sporting initiative.
In association with
Prakash Padukone, Kapoor is creating a short film to raise awareness and monies for little known but immensely gifted
sports persons from the fields of shooting and discus throwing.
To be webcast initially, the film aims to draw attention to their potential, which has largely been ignored in our country. The talented
Chandan Roy Sanyal has done the voiceover for the film which raises the familiar question – why not look beyond cricket? Why not indeed.
