Leighton Meester Chats OF MICE AND MEN & Compares Theatre Versus Film

Recognizable small screen star and mainstage newcomer Leighton Meester discusses her role in the new Broadway production of John Steinbeck's OF MICE AND MEN as well as comments on the differences between theatre and film as part of a new interview.

Remarking upon co-star James Franco and Chris O'Dowd and her experience performing in OF MICE AND MEN thus far, Meester shares, "We're just proud of what we're doing and I'm happy to be part of this."

Furthermore, Meester relates, "I had a sense that on stage I'd have to find my voice louder than in a close-up in a movie. There certainly are different techniques but it's not as different in terms of the emotional life of a character. We have the best director, Anna Shapiro, who has been so good showing how little changes can make things better."

Additionally, comparing the mediums, Meester says, "You are always in frame when you are on stage. Everyone can see you. You aren't waiting for your close-ups."
