Leslie Mann Reveals: ‘I Cry Like A Baby When I’m Tired’

Leslie Mann may be a fully grown adult but she is brave enough to admit that, like the rest of us, she has her emotional shortcomings. The 42-year-old actress admitted in an interview with the British magazine Stylist that she recently cried like a baby because she couldn’t understand an advertisement on the television in Dutch.

Mann has had a lot on her plate recently, and has been jet setting around the world promoting her new movie, The Other Woman, which probably led to her slight emotional breakdown in Amsterdam. She said that she only managed to get three hours of poor sleep on her flight, which may have also been a factor.

“Everyone was going out for dinner and they were all like, ‘Come to dinner,’ and I said, ‘OK.’ I was watching TV in my room and I started crying at this Dutch commercial. I couldn’t even understand what they were saying. And I thought, ‘I shouldn’t go out.’ I just started crying from being tired. Like a baby.”

Back in 2012, Leslie Mann featured in This Is 40, which was directed by her husband Judd Apatow. Most of the comedy in that show was a reflection of the couples’ real life together which presented an issue for Mann:

“The thing that bothered me, and I always tell Judd this, a lot of it is based on our lives but some of it is super exaggerated and some of it’s based on our friends’ lives or whatever. I mean, we decided to put it out there, it’s our own fault, but I did feel it was a little invasive at times. I kept getting annoyed because it was like, ‘Argh! Everyone’s in my business,” she revealed to the publication.

It’s interesting that it was a commercial on TV that triggered her tearful reaction since she actually started her acting career at the age of 18 making TV commercials. She got her movie break in 1995 after being chosen from 500 applicants for a role in The Cable Guy.

Since then, Leslie has appeared in a number of movies and received very positive reactions to her performances. In 2007, she appeared in the comedy Knocked Up directed by her husband, and got a ” best supporting actress” nomination from the Chicago Film Critics Association.

Leslie Mann manages to juggle a successful career with bringing up the couples’ two daughters.

She can be forgiven a few tears.
