Film crew left in the lurch as director 'absconds'
It was only recently that director-producer P Ravikumar was involved in a controversy following a death threat complaint filed against him by actress Sujibala. Now, we hear that the some of his upcoming film Love Pannlama Venama's crew were left to fend for themselves after the director chose to leave the hotel where they were put up in Mumbai.
Apparently, last Wednesday, the hotel management had informed the director of running a huge bill and requested him to pay some part of the amount to continue their stay but the director abruptly left the hotel on Thursday without checking out , and thereafter could not be reached by the management.
However, his crew of five, which included two women, had to manage with just water, tea and biscuits for nearly two days as the hotel had to stop all services towards them though the stranded crew members were provided accommodation in the hotel's staff quarters.
Meanwhile, when we got in touch with Ravikumar, he said that the team was shooting in Mumbai and he could not settle his bill because of the elections. At the time of going to press, we were informed by the hotel management that Ravikumar has agreed to settle the dues.
