TOKYO -- Hino Motors Ltd. and Isuzu Motors Ltd. are both expected to report record operating profits for a second straight year in fiscal 2013 on strong sales of trucks in Japan.
The Japanese automakers benefited as shipping companies at home stepped up truck purchases in response to an increase in freight traffic. Sales also got a boost from last-minute demand in Japan ahead of the April 1 consumption tax hike.
